NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's tennis team will host two OVC matches this weekend as the Bruins face Eastern Illinois on Friday and SIUE on Saturday.
Entering the weekend, the Bruins are 9-6 for the season and 2-1 in conference play after beating UT Martin and SEMO on the road last weekend. Freshman Peyton Lee leads the team with a 13-10 record and a 9-6 mark in spring play. Sophomore Erin Allen has 12 singles wins and a 2-1 in OVC play. In doubles, the team of Maria Plaksina and Terra Sheldon hold a 9-6 record, which includes a 8-1 record in the spring.
On Friday, the Bruins host Eastern Illinois. The Panthers are also 9-6 this season having recently defeating SIUE on March 26. The match is set for 1 p.m. indoors at Nashboro Village.
Then on Saturday, Belmont entertains SIUE. The Cougars are 5-9 this season having dropped their last two matches against Jacksonville State and EIU. First serve is set for 10 a.m. at Centennial Sportsplex.
