NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University women's tennis faces Southeast Missouri Friday in the first round of the 2019 OVC Women's Tennis Championship.
The Bruins, who earned a No. 4 seed courtesy of a 5-3 conference record, are making their second OVC tournament appearance, first since 2013. That year Belmont defeated Murray State before falling to Jacksonville State in the semfinals.
Belmont won seven out of eight team matches through April 13, including a five-match OVC win streak.
The Bruins defeated Southeast Missouri, 4-3, earlier this season. Belmont claimed the doubles' points and earned singles' wins from Allen, Plaksina and Sheldon.
First serve is set for 10 a.m. CT from Centennial Sportsplex. The winner advances to face No. 1 seed Austin Peay Saturday.
