Regular Season Finale

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University Volleyball keeps its postseason hopes alive with its final two matches of the regular season on deck this weekend. The Bruins (5-21, 5-9 OVC) travel to Eastern Kentucky (4-22, 3-11 OVC) on Friday and conclude the weekend at Morehead State (18-9, 9-5 OVC) on Saturday afternoon.

EKU will look to snap a two-match skid when the Bruins come to Richmond, after only picking up its first win in 12 tries. The Colonels stand at 4-22 overall and 3-11 in conference play. Cassie Knutson leads the team in kills with a total of 301. The team's leader in assists is Rachel Woody, who has recorded 475 while Chloe Rojas leads the team in digs with a total of 415.

Belmont leads the all-time series, 10-6. BU won the meeting between the teams earlier this season in Nashville, 3-1, snapping its 17-match skid that marked the top of the season.

Morehead State has split its last four outings to stand at 18-9 overall and 9-5 in OVC play. Olivia Lohmeier leads the team in kills with a total of 346. Chandler Clark's total of 1,055 assists leads the Eagles. Allison Witten leads in digs, recording 384. Jessie Wachtman has notched 19 solo blocks while Danielle McCarson has tallied 25 service aces.

The all-time series is tied between the programs, 7-7. MSU won the last matchup between the teams in Nashville, 3-0, in October.

BU has won three out of its last four outings to stay in the mix for a spot in the 2018 OVC Tournament. Freshman Taylor Floyd (Louisville, Ky.) leads the Bruins in kills with a total of 219 and is followed by senior Maggie Mullins (Nashville, Tenn.), who has contributed 195.  Freshman Carly Mason (Forsyth, Ill.) leads in assists with a total of 495 while sophomore Akia Warrior (Ft. Worth, Texas) has recorded 339. Warrior leads in service aces with a total of 18 with senior Mullins close behind with a total of 17.  Senior Haley Sullivan (Lemont, Ill.) leads BU in digs with a total of 268 followed by freshman Peyton Kelley (Normal, Ill.), who has tallied 187.

Friday's contest at EKU is set for a first serve at 5 p.m. CT while Saturday's match at Morehead State is set to begin at 1 p.m. CT.  Live stats will be available and both matches can be seen live on the OVC Digital Network.
