NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the first time this season, a Belmont University Volleyball student-athlete has earned Player of the Week distinction from the Ohio Valley Conference. Freshman Taylor Floyd (Louisville, Ky.) was tabbed Co-Newcomer of the Week for her efforts during the final week of the regular season, the league announced on Monday.
The Louisville, Ky., native recorded a double-double for the week of regular season play to lead the Bruins. On the road at Eastern Kentucky, she picked up her fifth double-double of the season with a team-high 17 kills and 11 digs. In the season finale at Morehead State, Floyd posted six kills and tallied a match-high 13 digs in the effort.
For the season, Floyd led the Bruins in kills, recording a total of 242. She also wrapped the season leading the team in points (267.0), second in solo blocks (4), fourth in both digs (159) and block assists (28).
