MACON, Ga. – Juniors Matt Miller (LaPorte, Ind.) and Nicole Muldowney (Hoover, Ala.) were named to the first Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic Team for men's and women's cross country, respectively, as announced by the league on Thursday afternoon.
Each team is comprised of seven members based on both academic and athletic performance. A cumulative GPA of 3.3 is required to be considered for the honor, while excelling on the course also helps the individual's case.
Miller proved to be a great addition to the Bruin squad this season, leading Belmont in every race. He placed in the top ten on four occasions, including a fourth place performance at the A-Sun Championships earning Miller First Team All-Atlantic Sun accolades. Miller holds a 3.36 GPA while majoring in history at Belmont.
Muldowney, a mainstay on the Belmont women's team, continued to lead Belmont this season as a junior. She finished one place away from earning all-conference honors, taking 15th overall at the A-Sun Championships. Muldowney also placed sixth overall in leading BU to the Evansville Invite title. She holds a 3.68 cumulative GPA while majoring in Mathematics at Belmont.
