NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Belmont women's cross country team was honored as one of 205 teams to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Status, as announced on Monday. The Bruins recorded the 16th highest team GPA, at 3.60, among all of the teams in recognition.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
Belmont led the Atlantic Sun with its 3.60 team GPA. The Conference totaled six teams honored, which included the Bruins, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida, and USC Upstate.
Alabama reported the nation's highest cumulative team GPA with a mark of 3.83, while Georgetown received the USTFCCCA Scholar-Team of the Year award for placing the highest at nationals and earning All-Academic status.
