NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's cross country team remained ranked in the final regular season top-15 regional poll by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) released Monday. The Bruins came in at 15th in the South Region after their performance at the 2015 OVC Championship.
Belmont has remained one of only two Ohio Valley Conference programs to be regionally ranked by USTFCCCA all season. Eastern Kentucky slipped to fourth place in the Southeast Region after the conference championship.
BU took fifth at the 2015 OVC Cross Country Championship and saw four harriers finish in the top-40. Senior Hannah Wittman (Lindenhurst, Ill.) was named All-OVC First Team after taking second overall at the Championship. Prior to the event, she was also named OVC Female Athlete of the Year, becoming the first from Belmont to garner the honor.
Belmont returns to action on November 13 at the NCAA South Regionals, hosted by Alabama.
