"Our women's squad ran well today, said Jeff Langdon, Belmont's Director of Cross Country. "We are a young team with a lot of potential and will only get better as the season progresses. I was also really pleased with the way freshman Kortney Schardt performed today. She did a great job in her first collegiate race and hope she can bring that effort in two weeks at the Vanderbilt meet."
The individual winner of the women's race was Vanderbilt's Sara Tsai, who posted a time of 17:29.9.
The women's cross country team will be back in action in two weeks, on Saturday, September 17, as they compete at the Commodore Classic on this same Vaughn's Creek Course.
