TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Belmont women's cross country team finished in 17th place at the NCAA South Regional meet held Friday at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
The Bruins finished in 17th place with a team score of 483. Ole Miss won the team title with a mark of 66 points, while Mississippi State finished one point behind in second with 67.
Belmont had two runners finish among the top-80. In her final collegiate race, senior Hannah Denton led the Bruins with a 64th place finish and a time of 21:42.1. Junior Kiera Weems finished in 78th place with a mark of 22:01.8.
Rounding out other scoring runners for Belmont included: junior Jessica King in 107th place at 22:28.7, freshman Kortney Schardt in 119th place at 22:39.8, and sophomore Mallory Young placing 141st with a time of 23:03.8.
Anne Marie Blaney of UCF was the individual winner with a 6K time of 20:07.2
This meet completes the 2016 season for the women's cross country team. In six events, they had three top-15 finishes.
